The FEP is composed of the national professional associations of the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, United Kingdom.
The central reference authority for Photography in the EU, it represents over 50,000 professional photographers in Europe. It defends the rights of professional photographers directly and in communion with national and international organisations.
It represents the interests of member associations on a global scale on topics like education, training, professional standards, authors rights etc.
The FEP cooperates in the organisation of national events of member associations and promotes an exchange of keynote speakers.
The FEP organised the first European congress of professional photographers in Valencia, Spain, in February 2008 and the second European Congress in Lyon, France from February 6th to 8th, 2011.
The Federation has established the QEP (Qualified European Photographer). With 328 qualified photographers’ from 20 countries since it began in 1999, the QEP has become the reference in professional photography throughout Europe. The FEP also organises the MASTER QEP qualification; 34 top European photographers have already received a Masters degree for their supreme quality.
The FEP also established the European Professional Photographer of the Year Awards, the European Fine Art Photograph of the Year Award and the European Photo Book of the Year Award to promote the highest standards in European professional photography.
The FEP is the Forum where all European professional associations meet, confer and act.
The FEP is also in close relationship with the W.C.P.P. (World Council of Professional Photographers).
